Still, Life is an acrylic painting I contributed to the “Paracosmic Escape” show at Modern Eden Gallery in San Francisco, presented and curated by Beautiful Bizarre Magazine and Musonium Gallery. We artists were provided with the theme and we all interpreted it in varying, and beautiful ways. In my painting, I utilized items I have collected over the years (such as my ubiquitous Blue Willow porcelain and one of my many nautilus shells) alongside lush fruits & still life fodder to create this juxtaposition of classical and contemporary imagery. It’s a highly personal piece, and I am very proud of it. As intentionally “meta-reality” jab, the original painting itself was framed in the very picture frame painted in the painting! The original painting sold at the show, but we have fine art reproductions available here.
The show’s statement: ‘Paracosmic Escape’ is an explorative group exhibition traversing mankind’s relative position within the physical world and accompaniment of the psychological realm, providing a private expanse of freedom from the external by way of looking internally towards oneself. Sheltered deep inside the hippocampus lives a complexity of infinite possibilities and opportunities. Somewhere we travel to remember the past or dream up our future. An inner solace that exists as an entryway to understand ourselves better – who we are and who we wish to be, as well as why we are the way we are and how we want to be. ‘Paracosmic Escape’ explores themes of retrospection, introspection, and complex relationships with the real world, where internal gateways offer a place of sanctuary to heal from and provide explanation to the effects of reality. Description
All Glossy Photo Prints are printed on a glossy photo paper with archival inks. A 1/2″ white border is included around the printed area of the artwork for all prints with the exception of Fine Art Mini Prints which are cropped to a 4″ x 6″ size exactly. When you select the print size and type that you want to purchase, the Printed Area Dimensions will appear below your selection. Please note the dimensions to make sure that the print you select is a size that will work for your needs. We cannot provide custom print sizes at this time. What you see offered is what is available. These prints are made on canvas with archival inks and varnished with a UV resistant finish. They are gallery-wrap style — stretched over 1 1/2″ deep stretcher bars and are shipped ready-to-hang. The canvas sides are printed in black, creating a natural self-framing effect, so you don’t have to purchase an additional frame if you don’t want to. The entire piece is also painted with a UV varnish and then heat set for maximum protection and longevity. They are truly beautiful pieces and it is often difficult to tell them apart from the originals. The open edition canvases are on deep gallery wrapped boards. The Open Editions are set to a specific size format and there may be some slight cropping around the edges from the original artwork. Each Masterpiece Edition is hand-embellished and signed by Jasmine. Please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery. We first have to make the canvas prints, ship them to Jasmine to hand-embellish, return them to our fine art printer to be stretched, packed and then shipped to you. This process is rather time consuming, so we appreciate your patience. Masterpiece editions: Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. Each piece must be printed after they are ordered, varnished with a protective coating, hand embellished by the artists, stretched and packed for shipment. This is a labor-intensive and time-consuming process. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Open Edition Canvases: Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery. Our canvases are coated with multiple layers of high-gloss UV-protective varnish which requires extensive dry time before the canvases can be stretched and packed for shipment. Glossy Fine Art Prints: Please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery. International shipping times can vary depending on your country’s Border Customs practices.
