Join Jasmine in Africa – March 2019 – for an Art Safari Adventure!

A Very Special Update…

Those of you at Patreon saw this coming, but to everybody else – here’s the big news!

(EDIT:  some spots have already been taken as of 4:00PM EST, so if you are in any way interested in potentially going – please email [email protected] asap so they can start planning!!)

Anybody want to come with me to Africa in 2019?  I’m returning, this time to run my own “Art Safari!” ALL the details are here (or just Google Jasmine Becket-Griffith African Art Safari ) and the full itinerary is available as a PDF available here  Everybody is welcome, whether you are an artist, want to be an artist, just happen to like art, or just want to go on vacation with me & Matt to Africa for a couple weeks!

Email [email protected]  if you are in any way interested, they can hold  a spot for you  (that’s my friend who runs the tours, not my husband Matty, hehe).

This will be in March 2019 – we have plenty of time to plan and to save $$ =)

There is a limit of 20 students/travelers, so even if you are only *slightly* interested, let [email protected]  know asap.

I went to Africa last year (South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia) with some musician friends with the same tour group, on a music themed safari.  Matt (from Tourica tours) has invited me to come back and this time hold an Art workshop themed safari.

For a photographic odyssey courtesy of my brother-in-law Paul Andrews – he has posted photographs he took when we went on last year’s trip to Africa together with our musician friends.  Click HERE to see them (he is a professional photographer so they are glorious photos to entertain you either way!)   Of course instead of Robyn playing concerts, our trip will have me doing artsy stuff, painting, optional workshops, etc. – but we will be visiting much the same itinerary (with the exception of some of the Johannesburg photos at the top of the page, as our trip will be slightly shorter).

Tourica Tours (I can speak from experience both as a customer, friend & client) do a simply amazing job of creating a laidback but luxurious, hassle-free way of traveling around Africa.  I can’t wait to go back!

I’ll be doing lectures, live painting demonstrations, art workshops, etc. throughout the tour.  My husband Matty of course will be coming too (he has never been to Africa and is super excited).  We’ll stay in a variety of different lodgings – luxury Safari “glamping”, nice hotels/apartments in Cape Town, fun boat rides down the Zambezi, a few nights right by Victoria Falls (one of the most stunning places I have ever been), & more.  The safari drives are amazing, you will see all the animals you would expect to see & then tons more, all out in the wild!  (Some of you might remember my elephants story…… 😉 )

It ain’t cheap, but it is truly a trip of a lifetime and worth every single penny & then some.  The accommodations are super nice, food everywhere is great (I’m vegetarian and had all sorts of great veggie options everywhere).  Let me see – it’s at $6999 which means if you can set aside $10 – $12/day until the trip, lol, you’d have it covered…. plenty of advance notice!  ;P

ALL the details and FAQ are on the official website here

The full itinerary is available as a PDF available here

Again -email [email protected]  if you have any travel or tour related questions.

Please feel free to ask me (email me at [email protected] , don’t respond only to this mailing list update as I may not see it, just email me at [email protected] ) if you have any questions for me about the art side of things, or about the places we’ll be visiting (as these are all places I love and have mostly visited before in person!).

I hope some of you are able to join me!  Again, while it is art themed you do NOT have to be an artist, this is for all skill levels and you can choose however much you would like to participate (or not).  The photography opportunities on this vacation are amazing, even just with an iPhone you can get fantastic images.  Or just bring your colouring books and colour along while I’m painting =)  I’ll be staying in the same hotels, eating at the same table, sitting in the same van, etc. as you all (and Matty of course) so I’m looking at this as a great way to meet some of you in person, get to be friends and have a magical journey.

Check out Tourica Tours on Facebook or Instagram @touricatours ,or again, my brother-in-law Paul’s photos from our last vacation Click HERE) to get a great sense of what we will see & do on this adventure!  We saw everything from wild penguins to lions, from Victoria Falls to the Cape of Good Hope.

XO
Jasmine

Jasmine Becket-Griffith at Disney’s Marketplace Co-Op

I’m back at Disney Springs! Here in Florida – I’ll be at Disney’s WonderGround Gallery inside of the Marketplace Co-Op inside Disney Springs ! I’m doing another one-night event here, to sign autographs, chat, and meet all of my friends & fans!

This special event features my WonderGround Gallery Disney licensed artwork, here in Florida. The Marketplace Co-Op is at Disney Springs on the MARKETPLACE side (over by Ghirardelli) at the Walt Disney Resort. A FREE event, no tickets needed. I will be there Saturday evening, from 4pm-8pm. This event is specifically for my licensed Disney character art – the WonderGround Gallery section is located inside the Co-Op. Prints, Limited Editions, mini canvases, postcards, t-shirts, mugs, magnets, cell phone cases, magic bands, and other licensed Disney merchandise featuring my artwork will be there for purchase.

Please come by and say hi!

Definitely do come early – Disney sometimes cuts off the line as it gets closer to 8pm. I will arrive around 4pm, but you can come early before that to shop ahead of time so I can autograph your artwork!

Market place Co-Op is on the “Marketplace” side of Disney Springs (Downtown Disney). It is over by Ghirardelli, World of Disney and the carousel. It’s a free event, no tickets needed, free parking, children are welcome.

This is a Disney-specific event, and depending on crowds the Disney staff may limit the number of autographs to two per person.

While you are at Disney Springs, be sure to also head over to Disney Springs West Side to POP Gallery (next door to the AMC theatres) to see all of my non-Disney art as well, they have an amazing selection!

California folks – don’t worry, I’m coming back to Anaheim soon!

Jasmine Becket-Griffith Coloring Book pre-order on Amazon

instagramcoloringbook

My Jasmine Becket-Griffith Coloring Book is now available to pre-order at Amazon for $19.99 – click here as well as MANY other purchasing options available, including international, pre-Christmas, etc. – all the details are in this caption below, please take the time to read through this, please, please:

Firstly yes, the US Amazon site now has it up for pre-order at the link above (or just go to Amazon and search “Jasmine Becket-Griffith Coloring Book” ). They will have the cheapest price and cheapest shipping options, ‘cos they are Amazon. They say that they’ll be getting their stock in February. As you know, with Amazon, the sooner you get your pre-order in, the more likely you’ll be in the first batch they ship out, so go for it now if you can. If cost is your concern, Amazon will always be the cheapest. Live overseas? You can also place your pre-order directly through the Llewellyn distributors site here (price is listed in US dollars, but they will indeed ship worldwide and your credit card will convert into your local currency as per usual).

Want it sooner in time for Christmas? Want an autographed copy? Want worldwide options? Read on!
Some of us (well, just me and the Pop Gallery at Disney Springs) will be getting a limited number of ADVANCE COPIES. These will be coming at the end of November/early December. Theoretically this will be in time for Christmas/Holiday shipping. Here’s how the Advance Copies will go down:
*Later this month I’ll be giving away three copies for FREE as giveaways through Patreon (worldwide). These will be the very first copies I get myself, my personal copies, and I will autograph them. All you need to do for these is be sure to be a member of Patreon in the next week or two: http://www.patreon.com/jasminebecketgriffith
*Near the end of the month too I will be taking my remaining copies after the giveaway, autographing them, and putting them up for sale at Strangeling.com priced at $29.99+ shipping.. I will only have a few dozen copies at this time, they will probably go fast. These will be autographed, can be shipped worldwide, and will theoretically arrive in time for Christmas, etc. for gifts. I anticipate that these will sell out fast. I will post on Facebook when they pop up for sale.
*I am reserving a handful of my own advance copies to autograph and auction on eBay. These will be auctioned throughout the end of November/December. I will be putting them up as auction-formats (not buy-it-nows) so that if anybody happens to miss the initial launch at Strangeling.com (if it sells out quickly) or isn’t able to get one from Pop Gallery, they will still have the option to place a bid and get theirs in time for the holidays.
*On December 12th I will be doing a special event at Pop Gallery Orlando at Disney Springs (Downtown Disney West Side) located at the Walt Disney World Resort here in Florida. It’s a FREE event, everybody is welcome. In addition to debuting my new “Four Seasons” series of paintings, we will also be doing the official launch/release of the Jasmine Becket-Griffith Coloring Book. Pop Gallery will also be getting in on the Advance Copies of the book, which means that they’ll have it long before Amazon, etc. You can totally come in person, buy the coloring book, have me autograph it, and that way you can have it in time for Christmas, etc. too. Details about the event are here – In addition, subject to availability, if you are not able to attend the event at Disney World, you can instead call Pop Gallery on the phone – 407-827-8200 – and reserve an autographed copy from the event. Pop Gallery can ship your book anywhere in the WORLD. So, if the Strangeling.com advance copies sell out quickly at the end of November, calling or coming to Pop Gallery will be your best option to get an autographed advance copy available worldwide.

After the February release, the Jasmine Becket-Griffith Coloring Book will be widely available. My friend Paul at StrangelingUK will have them at StrangelingUK.com and will have them for our UK events. I’ll have them in stock permanently at Strangeling.com for worldwide shipping of autographed copies after the Februrary stock shipment, as will Pop Gallery here at Disney. I’ll bring them to shows & festivals like DragonCon, the KC Renfest, any sort of events like that. They’ll be in bookstores worldwide, on hundreds/thousands of online bookshops, gift stores, etc. It is going to be widely distributed. The details above are mostly just pertaining to the Advance Copies which will be coming out before the holidays, for those who want to be FIRST or who want to give them as gifts, etc.

The book is gorgeous, printed on high quality paper. The images are “one sided” meaning that you don’t have to worry about ink or markers “bleeding through” onto the other side of the page. You can totally cut out the pages too that way without missing anything. There are 55 images in all, 95 pages, introduction from me, details about the paintings, etc. While aimed at grownups, all content is suitable for all ages. If you are a retailer and are interested in stocking the book, contact Blue Angel Publishing – blueangelonline.com and they can point you in the right direction.

DragonCon, Last Chance on MANY Ltd Ed Canvases, KC Renfest, ACEOs and more!

Updates from Jasmine!

Lots of exciting stuff going on around here (and elsewhere….)

Firstly, I’m getting ready to leave for DRAGON*CON!  PLEASE NOTE We’re packing up now to begin the long journey.  Strangeling.com and our eBay/Etsy/etc. will remain up & running as usual, but for hand painted artwork there will be a bit of a delay (we return from Atlanta on September 8, our next shipping day September 9).  I am in the DragonCon Art Show at the Hyatt Regency Grand Hall WEST (same spot as always in the ART SHOW, NOT the comic art section next door, this always confuses people).  More details are below and even more details are on my event page here

Kansas City folks!  The KC Renfest starts September 5th!  Details are on my event page here .  My permanent gallery will be open every day at the Renfest for the entire season, and I myself will be there in person the last week of September and the first week of October (and I’ll be painting!).

In other news – I have some new ACEO cards up for sale (including the elusive Rhapsody in Pink – other than the ACEO there are absolutely no prints, no canvases, no merchandise of her whatsoever – just the ACEO card alone!).  Click here to see the new ACEO cards.

Now some very important stuff – many of our Limited Edition Canvases are running out.  Many have now completely sold out.  With all the sales, conventions, festivals and fairs lately we have been selling the Lt. Ed. canvas prints like never before.  I know I usually try to alert you when canvases are running low, but sometimes they sneak up on us (and sometimes stores/galleries place wholesale orders which can sometimes clear out an entire edition).  We currently have several “LAST CHANCE” Limited Edition Canvas auctions for the #25/25 (or #5/5 for Masterpiece Editions) last Lt. Ed. Canvases in each edition.  These are truly the last chances you’ll ever have for these, no more will ever be made.  Click HERE to see the last chance you’ll have for “Sanura,” “Stilleven IX: Vissen,” “Waterlily,” “Hope and Despair,” Pearl Swirl Mermaid,”  Some of these are ENDING TONIGHT so hop in there if you don’t want to miss out forever.  Scroll down in this update for head’s up on other canvases that are running low, endangered, etc.

Work-in-Progress for Corey Helford Gallery

Corey Helford Gallery Work In Progress

Work-in-progress! A little farther along now – for a group show opening January 24 at Corey Helford Gallery in Culver City, CA. Most of the basic shading & sketching is all done now, I’m starting to lay in more small details and layers of colour. It’s a circular painting with a circus theme – called “Bosch Circus” for the show “Freaks & Americana”. This piece is inspired by the circus history in my own family (a troupe of aerialists from early last century known as the Flying Behees ) and of course some phantasmagorical animals and performers inspired by Hieronymus Bosch (from considerably earlier). This painting will debut at the opening reception at CHG Circa on January 24th from 7-10PM. Participating artists include: Kukula, Colin & Sas Christian, SHAG, Ron English, David Stoupakis, Michael Hussar, Tom Bagshaw, Yosuke Ueno, me of course, and many more wonderful artists. I probably won’t be able to make it out there in person for that evening, but definitely drop by if you can! This original painting is acrylics on panel, will be in a handcarved frame, and will be priced at $8200. Prints will also be available soon!
