Just a quick note – Jasmine is on her way to her London studio leaving Saturday (January 27th). All orders at Strangeling.com will be shipped & processed as normal, with the exception of the Strangeling Vinyl dolls and the hand embellished Limited Edition and Masterpiece Edition canvases (as they ship from Florida and require Jasmine to hand paint the details in person). Hand embellished Limited & Masterpiece Editions will be shipped after her return, February 5. All other items will ship as usual!
Updates from Jasmine!
Firstly – new stuff is happening at Disney! I’ve been appearing at the Epcot International Festival of the Arts and will be back for many more dates! Tomorrow (Saturday the 20th) I’ll be at Epcot’s “Pop Gallery Tent” from 5-7pm over by the Canada Pavilion, and next Friday (the 26th) I’ll be at Epcot’s “WonderGround Gallery” tent (over by the the France/Morocco Pavilions) from 5-7pm as well. I’ll be back for many other dates too – both tents always have my artwork (Disney stuff at WG, personal stuff at Pop) whether I’m there or not, in case you miss me. The Pop Gallery Tent has my new Strangeling Vinyl dolls, by the way, and the WonderGround Gallery Tent has my new URSULA prints & merch. Details and additional dates are on my Events Page here
Speaking of Strangeling Vinyl – we just got our huge shipment of “Alice in the Starry Night” inventory in, so if you pre-ordered your doll they are shipping NOW. If you were waiting for them to get in stock – we have them NOW so you can order worldwide (we ship anywhere) right here on my website today!
New paintings! I have four new paintings to show you! Two have sold, one is up for auction, and one is now available at a gallery!
We have a NEW enamel pin though this month! The January Pin of the Month – “Frost Dragonling” – available to the public for sale here! You can see all of the Strangeling Pins we’ve released so far together here. Or alternately you can sign up for the Pin Collector Club through my Patreon here and you will automatically receive Frost Dragonling along with the Patreon-only pin “The Scarecrow” and you’ll get each new Pin of the Month as they are released (along with Patreon-only pins and exclusive bonus pin giveaways, discounts, and more). We are releasing a new Strangeling Lanyard too and you will receive the lanyard (and any new lanyard designs we come out with automatically!.
Finally – we have a couple of LAST CHANCE canvases – the final #5/5 Masterpiece Edition canvas of “Alice Through a Vermeer Glass” is up for auction here and the final #25/25 Limited Edition canvas of “Ninja Dragonlings” is up for auction here. All the limited/masterpiece editions are all gone other than these last ones up for auction, we do still have open editions available however.
I know my Patreon Patrons already know this, but for everybody else here’s a teaser – we are launching “Strangeling VINYL” this coming January! A whole new way to collect my artwork as vinyl toys. Estimated price will be $34.99, each is handpainted, will be available worldwide from Strangeling.com and various other sites, including the Pop Gallery at Disney Springs (they should have them in time for the Epcot event too!). I am super excited for these, we’ve been working nonstop on these (for behind the scenes details check my Patreon) – the first release will be “Alice in the Starry Night!” Ages 3+
Updates from Jasmine!
Firstly – Happy Winter Solstice today! (Or summer, down south!). Happy Christmas, Holidays of all kinds, and upcoming New Year! Happy everything! We are on our way up to spend some time up in Kansas City so we can visit with our families over the holidays. As I’ll be at my KC studio, I’ll still be painting, we’ll still be shipping, printing, etc. – all orders will go as usual, no delays. The only potential short delays will be with Masterpiece Edition Canvases (as they are currently hanging in Florida, lol, I’ll have to wait to mail those out when we return on January 3rd).
Secondly – thank you ALL who came out to my end of year shows at Disney! I already have added a bunch of new events for 2018 up on my Events Page Here – including seven appearances at the Epcot International Festival of the Arts (at which Disney will debut my new “Ursula” prints & merchandise), and for you UK folks I’ll be attending Glastonbury’s Avalon Faery Fayre March 10-11.
Hey, I’m on a podcast! I am the special guest this week on the popular podcast “Stories For Nerds” – you can listen beginning tomorrow (Friday, the 22nd) – the episode I appear on is SFN Podcast EpiXode 2.26 and you can listen to it starting tomorrow HERE or download it from wherever you like to get your podcasts. They have an interview with me and then I chime in for the remaining part of the show which is a “year in review” for all things nerdy (books, scifi/fantasy, computer stuff, movies, video games, etc.).
Pin news! You guys cleaned us OUT during the holidays this year, “Ruby Dragonling,” “Alice in the Starry Night,” “Voodoo in Blue,” “Pink Lightning,” and “Biohazard” pins are all SOLD OUT and are now retired. You bought them all. My friend Paul who runs StrangelingUK may have some of these still left in our British inventory – click here – he is in the UK but ships worldwide, so that’s your last chance! Otherwise, you might want to check in at the Strangeling Pin Collecting Group here to see if anybody wants to trade or sell theirs.
We do have a NEW pin though this month! The December Pin of the Month – “Snowflake Fairy” – available to the public for sale here! And we still have some of THEM in stock, lol. And many more to come – you can see all the Strangeling Pins so far here . Alternately too, the best way to stay on top of things is to sign up as a Patreon Pin Collector on my Patreon here. While it’s still December you can immediately get the Snowflake Fairy (along with the Patreon-only pin “The Scarecrow” , and the Strangeling lanyard), and you’ll get each new Pin of the Month as they are released (along with Patreon-only pins and exclusive bonus pin giveaways, discounts, and more).
Speaking of Patreon – we hit our $5k goal – THANK YOU ALL! That was our goal to hire a new fulltime Florida employee (which will open us up to many more exciting things). I really can’t thank you guys enough, it will change our lives. I’ve announced the $6k goal (livestreaming paintcam!) and the $7k goal (giant printers!) up there today too.
In fact, I’ve just posted a bonus Christmas coloring page – “Nutcracker Suite” along with “Winter” as two new Patreon Exclusive downloadable pages – if you are already part of the coloring tier ($5+) you can click here and see all the new pages! Not yet a member? Just $5 lets you immediately download ALL the coloring pages so far, all at once. If you enjoy them, stick around and you’ll get new ones as they are added (and of course previews, sneak peeks, behind the scenes content, giveaways including original paintings & more). Simply click the link to Patreon here and click the orange “Become a Patron” button, it takes less than sixty seconds.
The clothing company “Spooky Kook” has just launched their amazing “Strangeling” clothing line! Gorgeous dresses, blouses & more featuring my artwork here! They are in the UK but they ship worldwide including the USA. They are reasonably priced (around $30 for a dress!!), have a fantastic range of sizes – UK 8 – 24, which includes a range of plus sizes too. If you have specific questions about the clothing or sizes please contact Spooky Kook here (I just know about painting, not clothing). Soft, lovely, high quality fabric too, I love it. Pssst – if you are petite like me, don’t worry – I’m a USA size 2 and even though a UK size 8 is quite a bit larger than that, the flowing style & stretchability of the fabric still hangs nicely on us small-framed girls too, I bought a couple dresses for myself 😉
Updates from Jasmine!
The BIG news of course is that it’s time for our Strangeling Sale!

Limited FREE Africa Plane Tickets Available for Jasmine’s Art Safari 2019
PLEASE NOTE: I posted this up at Patreon a couple days early for first dibs, but as of this morning there are still a couple of these available, so I’m posting it on my mailing list too before offering these to the public 😉
I came home from my workshop in Nashville to an excited message from Matt Collins at Tourica (the company that is running my workshop/art safari in Africa in 2019 – all details about the Safari are here – please come with me, they have just started taking deposits NOW so reserve your spot) – he’s just signed a promotional deal with South African Airlines that is giving him TEN FREE TICKETS from the US to our starting point in Africa.
He is using them for the next ten students/friends/fans who sign up for my tour. This will save you hundreds, thousands of dollars as you’ll only have to make it to JFK (NY) or IAD (Washington DC) and you’ll get to use FREE AIRFARE for all the international bits. How cool is that? Again, it’s for the first ten people who sign up starting now – (if you’ve already sent a deposit, check with Matt Collins and see if you can retroactively apply the savings, lol). Email Matt at [email protected] to reserve your spot and snag FREE airline tickets, this is incredibly exciting and I’m very thankful to South African Airlines & to Matt at Tourica for using this promo specifically for me & YOU, my friends who will be coming with me to go on safari, travel, make art (or watch me make art, lol) and have fun. Again though, just the first ten people, several of my Patreon Patrons already snagged them, so if you are wanting to come try to talk to him asap.
Even if we’ve run out of free tickets, definitely still get your deposit in to save your spot, as space is limited. Again – any questions – email Matt Collins at [email protected] (unless it’s specifically an art-related question, and in that case ask ME!). The itinerary and other details are here for the tour/workshop.

He’s preparing to launch audio versions too. Not for children. Join him here. Starting next year we’ll be collaborating on what we hope to be a weekly video program too, so stay tuned 😉

You can also see & purchase them in person at the Pop Gallery at Disney Springs – they really must be seen in person to be appreciated (the ones at Pop Gallery actually contain my physical signature on a panel inside the pen itself – so neat!).

Updates from Jasmine!
Firstly – thank you all who have sent kind & worried messages to us about the hurricane! Please don’t worry, we are fine, we live very near Orlando in Central Florida, Irma should be only a tropical storm (or less than a hurricane) by the time she arrives here. We’ve been through Cat 4s before in our fortress of a house and have never had problems, we are all set. Probably just a bunch of rain here.
That being said, just to be on the safe side, Disney has unfortunately canceled my WonderGround Co-Op tomorrow night (wind & rain of any sort aren’t good for art shows!). They have however scheduled me for three more new events at Disney Springs – mark your calendars – November 11 (4-7pm at the Co-Op), December 9 (6-9pm at the Pop Gallery), December 16 (4-7 at the Co-Op). I’ll add them to my official events page here SOON.
The Kansas City Renaissance Festival is in full swing and my shop is open every weekend, #251 over by the Joust! I’ll be there in person for sure on September 30, October 1, October 7, October 8 if you’d like autographs.
Thank you all who came to see us at DragonCon and made it our best DragonCon ever!! Were you not able to come but still want to score some for the FREE DragonCon swag? We snagged a ton of the extra DC Room Key Cards I designed (and autographed), set aside 8 of the DC Strangeling reusable giant plastic carrier bags, and have half a dozen each of the backups of the DragonCon Exclusive Pins! No, I will not sell these, but I will be giving them away as prizes randomly to my Patreon Patrons sometime next week! Sign up for Patreon here to get in on the giveaways next week, we’ll have dozens of winners!
And finally – Brushdance has just released my 2018 Calendar! The Strangeling 2018 Calendar is available worldwide! There is a wall calendar (12 pictures, full sized) and a weekly planner (just artwork on the cover). Just go to Google and search: Strangeling 2018 Calendar (don’t call it the Jasmine Becket-Griffith Calendar as some bookstores don’t bother with my long windy name). Or click for – Amazon, or AmazonUK , BookDepository (free delivery worldwide!), Calendars.com , Brushdance.com – all sorts of places have it in stock now.
Updates from Jasmine!
Firstly – we are headed for DragonCon! I have an event page here all about DragonCon – if you are coming, be sure to read it all – loads of important info and more details here. I’m in the DragonCon Art Show, located on the lowest level of the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, Grand Hall West, same spot as always from September 1st-4th.
Next – I have two new original paintings to show you! The first one was the result of the free custom painting I gave away at Patreon a few weeks back – the winner went with a dark Alice in Wonderland/Caterpillar them – the original has sold but we have prints & canvases for sale here, she is “Faces of Faery 238”! The second original painting is one that sold at my Insectarium show – her name is “Insectarium II: Carnivorous Plants” – prints and canvases are available here. To see any other original paintings that are actually still available to purchase (they tend to sell quickly!), click here.
Next – I am GIVING AWAY a new original painting up at Patreon! A Tiny Treasure with a Dia de los Muertos theme! Subscriptions at Patreon start at just $1, anybody signed up by next Wednesday the 6th will be entered automatically, just click here for details.

And finally – it’s time for new ACEO cards and I have a grand total of ten brand new beauties up for auction here – some of these will be paintings you have never seen before! I only make one single ACEO card for each painting I do, so they are truly one of a kind. Trading card sized canvas prints, hand embellished by me in acrylic paints, signed & numbered #1 of 1, bidding always starts at a penny here. Please ignore the “Jasmine’s out of town” warning as I will be back home before the auctions end and I can mail them with no delay!
(EDIT: some spots have already been taken as of 4:00PM EST, so if you are in any way interested in potentially going – please email [email protected] asap so they can start planning!!)
Anybody want to come with me to Africa in 2019? I’m returning, this time to run my own “Art Safari!” ALL the details are here (or just Google Jasmine Becket-Griffith African Art Safari ) and the full itinerary is available as a PDF available here Everybody is welcome, whether you are an artist, want to be an artist, just happen to like art, or just want to go on vacation with me & Matt to Africa for a couple weeks!
Email [email protected] if you are in any way interested, they can hold a spot for you (that’s my friend who runs the tours, not my husband Matty, hehe).
This will be in March 2019 – we have plenty of time to plan and to save $$ =)
There is a limit of 20 students/travelers, so even if you are only *slightly* interested, let [email protected] know asap.
I went to Africa last year (South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia) with some musician friends with the same tour group, on a music themed safari. Matt (from Tourica tours) has invited me to come back and this time hold an Art workshop themed safari.
For a photographic odyssey courtesy of my brother-in-law Paul Andrews – he has posted photographs he took when we went on last year’s trip to Africa together with our musician friends. Click HERE to see them (he is a professional photographer so they are glorious photos to entertain you either way!) Of course instead of Robyn playing concerts, our trip will have me doing artsy stuff, painting, optional workshops, etc. – but we will be visiting much the same itinerary (with the exception of some of the Johannesburg photos at the top of the page, as our trip will be slightly shorter).
Tourica Tours (I can speak from experience both as a customer, friend & client) do a simply amazing job of creating a laidback but luxurious, hassle-free way of traveling around Africa. I can’t wait to go back!
I’ll be doing lectures, live painting demonstrations, art workshops, etc. throughout the tour. My husband Matty of course will be coming too (he has never been to Africa and is super excited). We’ll stay in a variety of different lodgings – luxury Safari “glamping”, nice hotels/apartments in Cape Town, fun boat rides down the Zambezi, a few nights right by Victoria Falls (one of the most stunning places I have ever been), & more. The safari drives are amazing, you will see all the animals you would expect to see & then tons more, all out in the wild! (Some of you might remember my elephants story…… 😉 )
It ain’t cheap, but it is truly a trip of a lifetime and worth every single penny & then some. The accommodations are super nice, food everywhere is great (I’m vegetarian and had all sorts of great veggie options everywhere). Let me see – it’s at $6999 which means if you can set aside $10 – $12/day until the trip, lol, you’d have it covered…. plenty of advance notice! ;P
ALL the details and FAQ are on the official website here
The full itinerary is available as a PDF available here
Again -email [email protected] if you have any travel or tour related questions.
Please feel free to ask me (email me at [email protected] , don’t respond only to this mailing list update as I may not see it, just email me at [email protected] ) if you have any questions for me about the art side of things, or about the places we’ll be visiting (as these are all places I love and have mostly visited before in person!).
I hope some of you are able to join me! Again, while it is art themed you do NOT have to be an artist, this is for all skill levels and you can choose however much you would like to participate (or not). The photography opportunities on this vacation are amazing, even just with an iPhone you can get fantastic images. Or just bring your colouring books and colour along while I’m painting =) I’ll be staying in the same hotels, eating at the same table, sitting in the same van, etc. as you all (and Matty of course) so I’m looking at this as a great way to meet some of you in person, get to be friends and have a magical journey.
Check out Tourica Tours on Facebook or Instagram @touricatours ,or again, my brother-in-law Paul’s photos from our last vacation Click HERE) to get a great sense of what we will see & do on this adventure! We saw everything from wild penguins to lions, from Victoria Falls to the Cape of Good Hope.
